Thanks for pointing this out and adapting this relation. I'll check this right away for all waterways I've worked on and add what's still missing.
Best regards

I have checked all that I know on site of about 50 waterway relations, 14 of which I have now added.

Great work !
(but the relation 531553 is strange : a river in 4 parts ?)Best regards

Yes the relation 531553 is strange.
But Several parts are right here, the Giselau was also separated into several parts by the construction of the Kiel Canal. There is also a larger river Eider, which also consists of 3 parts. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/407956#map=11/54.1206/9.4572Best regards

I think it is an error : the water of the river does not "disappear", it merges with the canal then goes outside the canal : the parts of the canal should be part of the relation for the 2 relations Eider and Giselau (like when a river goes through a lake, the water merges with the lake, there is no more river but we connect the entrance in the lake and the exit of the lake with a way in the middle of the lake, a false way required only to have a waterway with no gap).

I understand your approach, but the parts are not connected on the spot, they flow into the channel. However, the canal is not part of these rivers, the canal drains into the North Sea via the locks in Brunsbüttel, there is only one weir as a further connection for water level regulation at the lock of the Giselau Canal.
That's why I wouldn't add the parts of the channel to the relations. But I'm not sure about that either, because I have too little to do with waterway relations. If you want to adjust these relations, I would suggest that you discuss this in the forum first.
