alt_name Le Scave
name Le Scaff
=> I would rather invert the names as elsewhere it's named Le Scave, it's also the name used for a public hearing. https://www.guidel.com/fileadmin/Media/PDF_Sources/arretes/Juillet_2020/Avis_d_enquete_publique.pdfNothing against?

Hello trial, let me explain, what I did: I used the TMS for BD Carthage in JOSM and tried to stick to the "offical" names. BD Carthage/Sandre uses sometimes different names for the Sandre ID and for the sections of a river. The name for J5124000 is "le Scaff" (see http://www.sandre.eaufrance.fr/geo/CoursEau/J5124000). In the BD Carthage overlay, however, each section is called "le Scave". So, I used the name for the Sandre ID as name for the relation and the section names as waterway names and added it as alt_name in the relation. You have the local knowledge, which I don't have, so if you feel that "le Scave" is more appropriate as relation name, I have no problem if you change it. Cheers, wuff57

Thanks for the precise explanation.
On the given link I see as alternative names:
Rivière le scaff, Ruisseau le scave
But as hydrological areas:
LE SCORFF DU RAU DE PENLAN (5) AU SCAVE (NC)
LE SCORFF DU SCAVE (C) A LA MER
Not very coherent.

I see two streams one named Le Scave the other Le Scaff which is somehow problematic. The official name in Breton language is Ar Skav, so Le Scave sounds more logic. I'll checked further using a search engine: fishermen, tourism agencies, etc... use Le Scave. The only reference to Le Scaff is Sandre. So I'll ask some local mappers and probably change. -

I think the name "le Scave" for https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/561802752#map=16/47.8451/-3.4645 is simply wrong. May have been my mistake. This waterway is part of J5124200 for which BD Cartage does not show a name, not for the Sandre ID nor for the section. Way 243894623 is part of J5124000.

Indeed, according to the history you did it. As I would describe it as stream not as river too ;-).

What happened was that the original Scave waterway pointed (upstream) to the wrong direction, so I split it (which made me the owner of 561802752). But I forgot to remove the name of that section. Anyway, I corrected it.

Salud deoc'h Trial,

No problem if you change to the breton name (Ar Skav). Besides the name tag, keep the French name (name:fr) and specify the breton as name:br as well.

Salut KlubAnDouarSantel, il était question du nom en français et j'avais juste regardé selon diverses sources dont le nom en breton quel était le bon nom en français.
Hi wuff57, I was just checking with the writing in Breton language what was the correct one and name=Le Scave and name:br=Ar Skav are consistent.
