I first heard about OSM when I was looking for free maps to put onto my Garmin GPS I then recently bought. However, I sort of gave up because the map back then seemed ridicilous. Some time passed and I later picked up my interest when Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason announced the statistics of how much the OSM data for Iceland changed. The map still looked like crap so I was determined to do something about it and started to collect data to contribute. My focus was mostly pointed towards my hometown of Hafnarfjörður.

Now I'm in the business of requesting data from various municipalities in Iceland so I can input it into OSM. I also verify pathway data contributed from the capital city of Reykjavík and draw outlines of houses in Reykjavík based on BING imagery.
