I once mapped the town of Nelspruit, South Africa, with nothing but a GPS logger and a camera phone. Those were the days before Bing was even a thing.

This other time I went to a thing in the Karoo, and mapped a temporary town in the desert, again with nothing but a phone and a GPS. Nowdays Bing imagery is a thing, but in the desert there’s just sand.

I’m pretty knowledgeable on airports, so I’m often found adding detail to those.

I like mapping hiking trails, powerlines, landuse, and allsorts (=, really), mostly in South Africa where I can add some ground truth.
