I like FLO (free/libre/open) projects and originally started contributing to OSM because I wanted to improve the map for my own use in navigation apps like OSMAnd. I’ve done 99% of that contribution using StreetComplete, since it does not require me to learn about OSM tagging details (and I like going on walks).

When it comes to things I do regularly, I find myself chronically incapable of staying on the sidelines. So, during the times when I am actively mapping, you’re likely to find me commenting on issues in the StreetComplete repo. I’ve also made a couple code contributions, mostly around UX (e.g. the “smart” sorting for recent answers).

I want to preserve my outsider’s perspective for giving feedback on whether SC quests are intuitive to answer, so I have intentionally tried to avoid becoming involved with OSM itself or learning any technical details about tagging. Of course that’s impossible, so I have picked up a little along the way, but you’re unlikely unlikely to see me anywhere in the community except commenting on notes I left with SC… It took me 9 years to write this bio!
