Has this topic been discussed by any affected community? If so, may i have a reference for that? In any case, please respond to the public discussion of a changeset before conducting large scale reverting: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/133794995
In summary: The town names you have reverted were correctly placed, as agreed upon by the German OpenStreetMap community.
The names of the gminy you have reverted consist of a suitable German translation for the word "Gmina", followed by the German name of their administrative town; such translating is common practice in OpenStreetmap.

"as agreed upon by the German OpenStreetMap community."
You need to discuss this with Polish OSM community.
However, using historical german names for name:de was already discussed with the conclusion such names should be placed in old_name:de tag.
Nonetheless your changesets clearly show sources used - "Wikipedia;http://gov.genealogy.net"
These are not valid sources. -

Like i said, give me a link to the public discussion. The current consensus within the German community is that longstanding German town names should be tagged under name:de, not just for larger cities but generally for those with longstanding German names. This is also implied on the wiki, see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:name:de
The website http://gov.genealogy.net is not a source but rather a collection of historical sources. In the case of these town names, the sources are official historical town directories, for example http://pbc.gda.pl/dlibra/docmetadata?id=7326, which are nowadays available under public domain, making them compatible with OSM. Because the historical sources are documented well on this website, and sometimes also on Wikipedia, i mentioned both as "sources" in the changeset.
