Changeset: 150141518
Moved town classification from populations of 10,000 and above to 5,000 and above. OSM mappers took issue with some towns below 10,000 being classified as villages, and 5,000 is also the cut off used by the US census to classify "Urban" areas.

Hi @edops, I agree that places in Maine had been severely over-classified before this change and that this new state is probably a better starting point for place classification than every municipality being place=town. That said, OSM is a community project large-scale unilateral changes are frowned upon and can lead to edit wars.
