An overview of reviews made with MapComplete

Hello Pieter,

do you have the scripts for generating those statistics somewhere? I would be interested to do another round of analysis…

Maxspeed improvements in Denmark

Nice work and blog post. I had a look at “my area” and there are quite some roads missing the “maxspeed” tag. Especially in the more rural villages.

My pandemic mapping project: Cheltenham addresses

Impressive work and nice visualizations :)

iD on a phone

On an iPhone you could use GoMap!!. It’s a really nice editor and I find it pretty intuitive.

Updated contributor stats - the end of maps.me

@tg4567: I don’t think the chart would look that much difference. Organic Maps had 3k unique users in 2021 and 6,5k in 2022, see this table. Surely only a part of them are new OSM users…

OSM usage by country

So German users view 3x as many tiles per visit on osm.org compared to US-american users.

RU and UA a bit higher that I expected. Thats maybe connected to sanctions (unavailability of other map providers) and all those “war maps” using OSM tiles…

Hausnummern und Ortsdetails in Ramsberg am Brombachsee

Danke :)

Bayern/Franken ist was Hausnummern angeht leider recht schlecht aufgestellt.

Specialized mappers

I map many stuff but thinking about my specialization I would say: campgrounds with group_only=yes (the brown ones on OpenCamingMap) :)

Font OSM

Coole Idee, tolle Umsetzung und Respekt fürs fleißige “Buchstabensuchen”!

Updated contributor stats - the end of maps.me

I’m using Organic Maps for a while now on my phone and I pretty like it as map. Its less “bloated” compared to OSMAnd.

Yesterday I tested the integrated editor in Organic Maps and I have to say, that I like the opening hours part. So lets hope that the dev community around stays alive :)

Changes for tagging capacity/maxtents on campsites and update for https://opencampingmap.org/

I guess. So I will create a PR there…

Changes for tagging capacity/maxtents on campsites and update for https://opencampingmap.org/

The trouble with showing capacity tag on https://opencampingmap.org

I don’t think we should move from “capacity” away. It is a widely used (1M) key (most of them in other contextes) but it’s known to the mappers.

I look through the classes of a group_only campsites mapper and user as well. Capacity as of persons is a pretty nice tag when search for a camp site for the next groups summer camp.

Is there a real world utilization of maxtents information apart from backside camping?

A small update for Open Camping Map

Oh interessantes Feature.

My edits in Bergen County, part 6

From what I’ve seen in Texas they are quite good. There is a wiki site about it: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Microsoft_Building_Import_-_North_Central_Texas

Maybe you could talk with https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Andrew%20Matheny He seems to be the driver behind this effort.

My edits in Bergen County, part 6

Nice work. I justed mapped some buildings in Rochelle Park: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/65485624

Are you aware of the building footprints Bing provides to OpenStreetMap to use? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Catalogue/US/BingBuildings
