Animal traces or missing paths?

closed 3793809 unrest

This "path" is unmarked (i.e. no stone piles) and, starting about here, going south, there are no signs of it having ever been walked anymore.

It is walkable/navigable terrain, however, the wetlands are somewhat more extensive, at least in early summer (early July)

Depending on water levels (snow melt), here is either a ford or a creek with boulders strewn in

Existiert diese Hütte hier wirklich, denn diese ist auf keinem der verfügbaren Luftbilder zu sehen und taucht auch nicht im Katasterplan Bern auf.

There's a roughly 1.8m high cairn here.

As of 2022-09-16, the trail across this pass is not marked and not visible on the ground:
* South slope is essentially a steep boulder and rubble field, partially loose. When following the terrain blindly (south to north) to what appears to be the pass, you end up in the end moraine of the Räitaglaciären, to the west of this trail.
*North slope used to be a glacier and is now, partially, a snow-covered sheet sheet of ice, even in late Summer (09/2022), and *very* steep
The snow field can be circumnavigated by scrambling over steep loose rocks.

It is not shown in the printed maps from Lantmäteriet (BD06) and I am tempted to argue that this trail should be removed from OSM for public safety. It might (will?) eventually draw inexperienced hikers and once on the pass both directions of travel are ... not good for the unexperienced.
Then again.. If you're experienced it is an OK scramble and if you have crampons and hiking poles, the snow field is OK as well.
