Wow, that is interesting! There are two coastlines!
It seems correct as in the features are actually there. However they've been tagged in a bit of a strange way. Also looking at it the source is PGS, I don't know what that is, but it could be some kind of bodged import.
The Yahoo! Aerial photography is pretty good for the area, it's just going to require a bit of work to tidy up.
Just did a quick bit of tidying up the ways in Potlatch. And changed the tage from naturl=coastline to natural = water. I don't think natural = water is apt, as it seems very structured. Next guess is somekind of canal.
