Hello fedoroff net

This message is to advise that a temporary block has been placed on your OSM account.

As OSM is used by so many various users, worldwide, it is essential that the utmost care be taken to ensure that only correct and factual information is added to the map.

Unfortunately, a number of Mappers have expressed their concerns to us regarding your work:

  • Buildings are being added as apparent copy / paste, with no resemblance at all to the actual visible building that you are mapping over.

  • Meaningless descriptions to your edits e.g. “#fedoroffnet #pskov #pskovregion #2022 #evgeniyfedoroff Псков, Псковская область” (especially when you are not even mapping in Russia at all, let alone Pskov!), and “#fedoroffnet #2022”.

  • Lack of response to comments that have been left on your changesets, or somewhat impolite responses - “Don’t be so nervous”.

We also have concerns about some of the responses that you have made e.g. “These are experimental buildings, I just forgot to delete them. Much better than a city without buildings, isn’t it?”, “This is more for experimental testing, you can delete erroneous edits.”, “These are experimental tasks, I’m making variants for 3D. I’ll fix it soon.”

We would like an explanation from you as to what you are doing, or attempting to do, with these changes?

The live OSM map is not the place for experimenting with how things may appear, or for adding fictitious buildings just because they make the map look better!

We would also ask you to take a lot more care with your mapping, use proper descriptions (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Good_changeset_comments), and respond politely to comments that other mappers have made.

Once you have read this note, you will again be able to log-in and continue mapping in OSM.

However, if we have not heard from you with the required explanations by Monday 2 January 2023, the block will be reimposed on your account.

We hope that you will please take note of these comments, so we will not have to take any further action.

Please reply by e-mail to data@osmfoundation.org, quoting Ticket #2022122610000039 — Issue #23058.

Thank you,

Kind regards
